Most Totenreich runs don't fall apart because you made one huge mistake. It's usually smaller than that. A reload at the wrong time. One elite blocking the stairwell. A boss splash you thought you'd dodged. That's why players have been so quick to test anything that keeps them standing longer, and the current Lilly Relic setup is getting talked about in the same breath as high-round farming, camo grinding, and even Black Ops 7 Bot Lobbies when people discuss easier ways to keep progress moving without burning out.

Why the Lilly Relic feels so strong right now

The trick isn't that the relic makes you untouchable on its own. It doesn't. What it does is turn constant damage into constant healing, and Zombies gives you plenty of targets to feed that loop. With the Lilly Relic equipped, bullet damage gives you life back, and multi-kills help keep your health buffer from feeling thin. Pair that with Frenzied Guard at the stronger upgrade tier and the whole thing starts to look a bit silly. Zombies pile onto you, you shoot into the pack, your health bounces back, and your armour keeps repairing as kills come in. It's not pretty. It's not fancy. But it works.

Getting the run started without wasting points

The early game matters more than people admit. If you spend Essence on every door you see, you'll reach the setup stage with weak guns and no room for mistakes. A safer route is to stay near spawn for the opening rounds, milk the barriers, and take melee kills when it's safe. Once you've built a decent stack of Essence, move through the cheaper path toward the Courtyard and skip the awkward balcony route. From there, push to the Arsenal Room and hit the box for something with a real magazine. An LMG is ideal, but a fast SMG can do the job if you're landing shots and not panic-spraying at the ceiling.

Where the loop becomes reliable

After you've got the Lilly Relic and your Field Upgrade is ready, the Lower Cathedral Staircase becomes the place to test the build. Don't stand in the middle like you're posing for a screenshot. Set yourself a few steps above the lower landing and hug the right side just enough that the horde funnels in front of you. The pathing gets tight there, so zombies tend to stack in a line instead of wrapping around both sides. When Frenzied Guard goes up, fire through the front of the wave and let penetration do the work. You'll very quickly notice the rhythm: shoot, repair armour, leech health, reload, repeat. Keep a backup weapon ready, because one dry magazine at the wrong moment can still ruin the run.

Make the grind less painful

This setup is best used for steady farming, not showing off. Bring armour plates, keep an exit route in mind, and don't assume the game will forgive you just because the build is strong. Patch notes can also change relic values overnight, so it's worth using the method while it's still working. If your goal is to push camos, rank weapons, or make late-night sessions less stressful, some players also choose to buy BO7 Bot Lobbies as part of their wider progression plan, especially when they'd rather spend time unlocking gear than restarting messy runs on Round 28.
